About Subsurface Insights
Subsurface Insights is a small business which develops and provides software and hardware solutions for subsurface process understanding.
Subsurface Insights is headquartered in Hanover, NH with employees located in New Hampshire, Idaho, Massachusetts and Alaska. Subsurface Insights was founded in 2012 by Dr. Roelof Versteeg. Roelof previously held positions at Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory (Columbia University), the Department of Energy Idaho National Laboratory and private industry. He has published extensively on geophysical monitoring, analytics and data science.
Our capabilities are developed through a combination of government and industry funded research and development efforts, long and short term consulting efforts and collaborative research agreements. Subsurface Insights has been the recipient of multiple Department of Energy SBIR awards, and the long term support of the DOE SBIR program for Subsurface Insights is gratefully acknowledged. Subsurface Insights has active collaborations with multiple research groups in academia, national laboratories and industry. Potentially interested collaborators are encouraged to contact us.
Subsurface Insights meets the FAR definition of a small business and is well set up to assist prime contractors in successfully completing government contracts which call for the expertise provided by Subsurface Insights. Subsurface Insights staff has worked with multiple US government agencies including DoD, DOE, EPA, NSF and the USGS.
